Creating the YouTube ad in Google Ads Manager

[00:00:00] Okay, so now that we’ve got the video recorded, we’ve got it uploaded to YouTube. We need to now create the ad inside Google Ad. So if I, uh, open up adsd.google share my screen this week, we’re going to list a new home. Carls turn that off so that doesn’t play. Again. We’re gonna log in and see. On the right it says, left says video campaigns.

[00:00:20] We’re gonna click right there. We’re gonna go to, Oh, what a account am. . Um, yeah, that’s fine. That’s not the one I was gonna do, but it’s totally fine. Okay. So we’re going to go to, uh, now remember, the whole purpose of this campaign is so that you can see my video. I say this is the only home for sale that has all these cool features.

[00:00:39] If you wanna learn more, click on this video and I’ll give you all the details. So that being said, this is not going to be a sales a leads a product, uh, local store app or brand awareness. We’re we want website traffic, so we’re gonna click. And sure we can do signups and all of that. And here we’re gonna go to video.

[00:00:58] Uh, you could do discovery. This is a little [00:01:00] harder. Um, it can’t be cheaper if you, if you really understand it, I would not recommend doing discovery. Um, but you could do it. So we’re gonna click on video and you know, or ignore that. No reason to do that. So we’re gonna call this Carlsbad. And then I’m gonna say video and then I’m gonna say web traffic cuz it’s, they’re video ads.

[00:01:22] And my objective is web traffic. Uh, maximize conversions or you can do cost for acquisition. I’m gonna do conversions. I’m gonna spend just $4 a day, nothing significant. Uh, and I’m gonna go to enter another location. Let’s delete all these. This is where we get to get really ninja with this stuff. So I wanna target, uh, everybody who is in Carlsbad, California.

[00:01:45] English is fine. Uh, standard inventory. Now you could start to say, um, expanded inventory standard or limited inventory. Uh, I don’t, this is really like, do you want stuff on bad content? That’s really all this means, [00:02:00] right? Do you care that, um, some of the stuff you may do limited inventory, if that bothers you.

[00:02:06] Let me see what that does to the impressions. Took it down 2 million, like big deal. So do you wanna show on embedded YouTube videos, livestream videos, content? Not labeled. I, I don’t care. I’m gonna leave all of that stuff up. Uh, I’m not gonna worry about any site link extensions. I don’t care about that for this time.

[00:02:25] And this one’s going to be the, let’s say that I knew it was like 1 23 Main Street, right? Early launch a. So now we, we said that in order for somebody to watch this video, they need to be in Carlsbad. Uh, but we want to target them a little bit more than just saying everybody in Carlsbad because that’s 15 million views.

[00:02:46] I don’t want this going to a whole bunch of people that just play Candy Crush all day, cuz they’re not gonna convert at all. So one of the things that I’m gonna do is I can, uh, let’s just start from audience and optimize targeting. Then we’ll go a little bit [00:03:00] through advanced settings. So, . Um, if you had a custom real estate audience that you build, you can do there.

[00:03:08] If you want to build it, you can click a new audience right here and a custom segment or data or anything like that. This is if you had your leads or your website traffic in here. We’re not gonna worry about this yet. That’s for a future campaign, uh, optimized targeting. I’m gonna leave alone, but advanced setting.

[00:03:23] This is what’s really important. So if we want to go after keywords, topics, or placements, this is where you’re gonna edit keyword. I’m gonna ignore right now because you can get really lost on this. Uh, so we’re not gonna use this at all. We’re gonna turn keywords off. But topics, this is where I would start looking into things and see like, okay, you see, I type in Zillow and it says that if you’re interested in home financing, probably want to do this.

[00:03:49] Uh, in real estate listings, let’s say if I want, I don’t want rentals. I don’t want bank owned. Let’s say that I want to, uh, new homes and condos and town homes. . [00:04:00] So this is anything, this is topics, this is, this is gonna show on, on video. So if you want to put this in front of people in Carlsbad, California that are watching real estate agency topics, that’s what this means.

[00:04:12] Uh, if you wanna watch, like I don’t really care about, I would probably turn off services cuz I think you’re gonna get a lot of real estate agents watching that.

[00:04:24] If you had like some really, really, really good YouTube channels that were high velocity in your market, then we could go here. There, there is a plugin that you could use, uh, that will show you how to basically snip every high ranking video in your market. Now, if I was to go to YouTube right now and just type in Carlsbad ca.

[00:04:48] All of Carlsbad, California explained a thousand views uploaded a two months ago. I’d probably put it there. Uh, the reality of living in Carlsbad 4,000 views, 46,000 do, uh, [00:05:00] views 29,000 views. Uh, so we’ve got some right? Um, there’s another 1, 640 or four reasons to avoid Carls. , um, from somebody who lives in San Diego.

So the way that you would do this, let’s say you wanted to put your video in front of these, right? So what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna click this, I’m gonna pause. And you see where this video is right here, this little alert.

It doesn’t know because I don’t have those mapped, but it’s saying based on our daily budget, every single day, we can expect 2.7 to 7,000 impressions per day, which is great.

[00:10:19] Uh, that that’s really, if you go to Google Video Partners, um, we really need a better thing for this.

[00:10:32] That’s what I, I would just do Carlsbad Home. I thought they may have taken this away from us, so if you really wanted to get rid of video games, then one of the things I would do is I would turn off mobile. However, if you do TV screens, they’re not gonna be able to click on it. So I’m gonna turn off TV screens and I’m gonna leave on mobile, so that’s gonna take me from 10 million impressions to it.

[00:10:53] Shouldn’t really make that big of a di. Yeah, it didn’t make a difference at all. , um, operating [00:11:00] systems. If you, for some reason you didn’t want to do windows or anything, you could turn that off. Networks. Don’t worry about that. Device models, If you only wanted to run iOS, you could do that. Uh, let’s say that you knew that yours converted better on Apple than Android.

[00:11:13] I don’t know how you’d figure that out with a small ad, but ad budget, But you could. Um, now there’s another app that we can use that will remove, and that’s the Google Ads editor. I will make the next video about that, about how to take it off video games. Um, but so you know how to target Carlsbad and everybody in there, you can use specific topics they’re interested in.

[00:11:33] Uh, you have specific videos that you can run. Now, this is only going to put this on YouTube videos. Like these specific videos on YouTube. If you don’t want any of these, if you want it on all videos and it doesn’t matter what they’re looking at, then you wanna turn all of this on. But I would recommend starting with a smaller budget with things that are specific to Carlsbad, because I think that will help you, um, a little bit more.

[00:11:58] Plus you have all the Google, um, [00:12:00] video partners, which are a lot. It’s a, it’s a lot of traffic, right? So that’s it. I would go to, , we’ve got that. Whoops, You hit Create campaign and that would be the end of it. So in the next video I’m gonna show you, once you have this live and all of these are going, the next thing we need to do is we need to take this off video game cuz we don’t want anything on video games on this.
